Blabla was created in 2001 by us, Susan Pritchett and Florence Wetterwald, two good friends with the same philosophy of life and beauty.
While visiting Peru, we came across entire villages of expert knitters who had been keeping the tradition alive for generations. Inspired by their talent and the incredible quality and softness of Peruvian cotton, we decided to start our own compay of cuddly knitted products for children. Joseph, Flo’s husband, joined us a couple of years later.
Florence is a French artist who studied sculpture and industrial design in Europe and the USA. She is the creative force and designer of Blabla. Susan is from Albany, Georgia. She worked as a photo and film stylist in NY and Australia before coming back to Atlanta. She is in charge of marketing and communication. Joseph is from Atlanta. Film and business were his majors. He is Blabla’s locomotive and CFO.
Copper Pearl was started in the summer of 2015 by two stay at home moms, Stephanie and Kristin (with a little help from their awesome husbands). Kristin is a red-head (a.k.a. the “copper”) and Stephanie is a blond (a.k.a. the “pearl”). Both couples always had the dream of starting their own business, and when they realized the lack of trendy and modern baby bibs on the market they seized the opportunity to create Copper Pearl.
Copper Pearl was originally created with the idea and hope to create a line of premium, trendy, and unique baby accessories and clothing. Each product that is sold goes through a rigorous design process to ensure that the designs chosen are both highly functional and fashionable. Stephanie has always had a knack for entrepreneurship; she started several neighborhood businesses as a child and always dreamed of starting her own "grown-up" business one day. Kristin has a degree in clothing construction and has always had a goal to start her own clothing line or fashion business. Kristin and Stephanie are passionate about the design of each product and hope to bring you one-of-a-kind baby products that you love to use!
With a shared aesthetic and appreciation for design, Jen Kelly and Becca Perren found a void in the market for what they wanted for their own homes- the right mix of classic and modern, the subtle balance of fresh yet sophisticated design.
The name “Pehr” was developed as a play off of ‘pair’, to reflect their life long friendship and the notion that you can pair the designs and colours in the collections to create your own look.
Friends since childhood, Jen and Becca launched Pehr in 2011 with a clear creative vision: a line of classically simple yet modern home accessories.
Growing in step were Jen and Becca’s families, now with five children between them, they were the impetus for petit pehr, a children’s collection which launched in August, 2013.
Pehr is now an internationally recognized lifestyle brand with an ever-growing mix of products for the home, focused on the growing collection of children’s décor and accessories.
Designed in Canada, Pehr is a trusted lifestyle brand that creates playfully sophisticated Children’s décor and accessories that capture the beauty and simplicity of childhood.
I’m California-born and New-York-educated, making a home in Hong Kong by way of London with a Swiss husband and our two global children. And I know that when I was a young child, I embraced life with irrational exuberance just as our children do now. I was spellbound by a sense of wonder, the world offering mystery and wonder at every turn. As I watch our children’s childhood unfold here in Asia, surrounded by the international influence of an American mother and a Swiss father, I see in their lives a mirror of the vision I have for Velveteen.
We work with fair-trade organisations whenever possible. Our clothing is finely crafted and hand-embroidered, using a combination of Indian artisan techniques. We work to provide employment to mothers who would otherwise be unable to provide for their children and education for children who would otherwise be unable to attend school. We want to give all children the beautiful opportunity to embrace the magical marvel of childhood.
